Political commentary
11 June: Completeness of rates costs (paywalled) - Covers the likely separation of water infrastructure costs from rates bills and whether this is considered in any announcement to cut or stop increases of rates. My position is that - given the financial position of the city - it would be disingenuous to campaign on stopping rates increases. I commit to “deliver services and amenity to the city at a level of cost that is acceptable to the ratepayer” and “Any pledges I make will consider the full city management costs to the ratepayer”.
